Land Up Activities
On the mountain, high above the valley you’ll find summer adventure for the whole family. In The Land Up, you can hike among wildflowers, or race on our mountain bike trails. You can scream down a mountain coaster, jump on a bungee trampoline, test your courage on our challenge course, or scale a climbing wall. Here surrounded by beauty, you and your family will find summer fun of all kinds.
Colorado’s longest continually running ski area, Howelsen Hill, has a variety of summer fun available – The Howler Alpine Slide is one of its premier summer attractions. First, enjoy a scenic chairlift ride to the top of Howelsen Hill, then cruise down the 2,400-foot controlled descent through banked turns on the steep face.
The 19-hole course, located in the Thunderhead and Bashor areas, has a wonderful mixture of technical, wide open, and secluded baskets, resulting in a challenging and fun environment for disc golfers to sharpen their skills. The start of the course is located at the bottom of the Thunderhead lift at the top of Burgess Creek Road.
Enjoy the outdoors in Steamboat fishing on one of the many rivers or lakes. Yampa River Outfitters provides guided fly fishing and instruction for all levels of fishermen, located in the Steamboat Flyfisher Shop in downtown Steamboat Springs.
Haymaker Golf Course is owned by the City of Steamboat Springs which is committed to environmental sustainability. This 18-hole championship course, designed by Keith Foster, features a full practice facility, pro shop and Haymaker Patio Grill. Guest green fees include access to the practice range, range balls, and a cart.
One of the best ways to explore the mountain is via its hiking trails. Whether you’re a strong hiker or just looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll of the outdoors, we have a trail for you. Pick your hiking adventure and get ready to take in the vast views of the Yampa Valley and soak up the Colorado sunshine.
A horseback ride is the perfect way to enjoy the scenery, take some pictures, and learn about the animals, Steamboat’s western culture, and the beautiful surrounding landscape.
Expand on your kayak skills in a 3 hour program for all ability levels or rent a kayak and explore the Upper Colorado. Kayaking is an exciting way to explore Colorado’s rivers.
Maverick Mini Golf
Steamboat’s 18-hole mini-golf course is fun for the whole family! Located in the base area, the multi-level course features local landmarks, such as the iconic Steamboat barn, Fish Creek Falls, Nordic ski jumps, Rabbit Ears rock formation and more.
The Steamboat Bike Park features over 50 miles of downhill and freeride bike terrain, for all ability levels, bringing a new high intensity biking environment to Steamboat.

Outlaw Mountain Coaster
The Outlaw Mountain Coaster is the longest coaster in North America at more than 6,280 linear feet. The track, near Christie Peak Express, descends more than 400 vertical feet, rises up to 40 feet above the ground, and features dips, waves, turns and 360-degree circles.

Steamboat Zipline Adventures
Located just 10 minutes from town on Rabbit Ears Pass is Steamboat’s newest, thrilling family adventure. Steamboat Zipline Adventures offers a state-of-the-art six segment zipline, two quick jump belay systems and a trip down memory lane with an ATV ride along the old U.S Highway 40.
Wagon Dinner Rides
Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride to the Double Dollar Lodge at Saddleback Ranch. Fun for all ages! Wagon ride is approximately 30 minutes. Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Guests may also want to bring a jacket.
